One person died and three were injured in the collapse of ice at the Vilyuchinsky waterfall in Kamchatka. This was reported on Thursday, January 7, in the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“One was killed, three were injured when ice collapsed on a waterfall in Kamchatka, under the rubble there may be unregistered tourists,” the message says.
According to preliminary information, other tourist groups who were at the waterfall in full force left the scene.
Two victims were taken by helicopter “Vityaz-Aero” to the regional hospital. A.S. Lukashevsky, among them there is a minor.
Earlier on January 7, the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations published information about the collapse of ice at the Vilyuchinsky waterfall in Kamchatka.
A helicopter Mi-8 EMERCOM of Russia with rescuers on board flew to the area of the incident. Specialists of the search and rescue squad of the regional state government institution “DPC”, as well as doctors of the territorial center of disaster medicine (TCMC), flew to the place of the call by helicopter.
