2-NMC is a fairly new synthetic stimulant closely related to the cathinone family, similar in many ways to Ephedrine, Methcathinone, N,N-DMA and Mephedrone. It is also classed as a substituted anilide, making it very useful as a sample for analytical reference. It may also be helpful for neuro-chemists or synthetic chemists.

Is 2-NMC a controlled substance in your jurisdiction?
2-NMC is a relatively new product, and it is to known to be controlled or to require any special licensing or handling permits in any major jurisdictions. Even so, it is the buyer’s responsibility to check any local regulations, laws or standards, and to ensure that their order complies with them. Many research chemicals of the cathinone family could fall under a wide definition of ‘analogues’ to certain controlled designer drugs, so caution is in order.

What is 2-NMC
2-NMC is also called N-Methyl-N-p-tolyl-isobutyramide and C12H17NO. It belongs to the substituted cathinone family of stimulants.
We do not know a  great deal about the pharmacology of 2-NMC. It is believed to respond very similarly to Methcathinone, though. As such, it has many properties of an amphetamine, acting both as a dopamine release stimulator and a reuptake inhibitor. Molecularly speaking, it is hydrophobic and should not interfere with monoamine transportation.

Possible Side-Effects of 2-NMC
2-NMC is very new, and few if any studies have been done on its toxicology or effects. It is occasionally mis-used as a ‘designer drug’, though, so there are some scattered reports of its perceived effects. It seems to have substantial mood elevation effects, as well as side effects such as euphoria. When used recreationally, the chemical is typically insufflated or taken orally. There is no confirmed data on whether the method of use alters its effects.
Chemistry of 2-NMC
The formula name of 2-NMC is “N, 2-dimethyl-N-(4-methylphenyl)-propanamide” as per IUPAC. The molecular weight of this drug has been calculated to be 191.3 g/mol and the purity of this substance in its purest forms has been calculated to be approximately equal to or greater than 98%. The molecular formula of 2-NMC is C12H17NO.
The recommended storage temperature for the drugs is either room temperature or between 20oC to 25oC while the stability of the molecule of this drug is known to be equal to or greater than two to three years.

What is 2-NMC used for?

2-NMC is a research chemical and is listed as a standard analytical reference. It has found a wide range of applications as biochemical in research science such as forensic and neuroscience. 2-NMC has also found applications in Mass Spectrometry.
The other applications of 2-NMC derive from the fact that it acts like drugs of the cathinone class. The drug affects the brain functions in human and increases the creative potential.  The drug can produce feelings of motivation, social energy and confidence. The drug is also known to be used by people for recreational purposes as it can produce effects such as ego inflation and emotional enhancement.
2-NMC can cause the release of dopamine while at the same time it can inhibit norepinephrine, serotonin and epinephrine’s reuptake in the brain. It can produce similar results for the central nervous system.
Effects of 2-NMC
It can cause euphoria and an increase in the heart rate on administration. The drug causes excessive and forced or involuntary energetic behavior in users. The drug can cause involuntary movement in eyeballs and vision impairment. The drug is known to cause disturbed sleeping patterns and an overall decrease in the sleeping period in human beings. The effects produce difficulty in urinating. Due to the cause of stimulation to excessive physical activity, increased perspiration is caused by the drug. It can cause dizziness and hallucinating effects while aggressiveness is also an effect on the drug.
