The head of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory discussed with the members of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation the implementation of the constitutional amendments. In the course of working communication, the participants of the online meeting considered a package of presidential bills adopted in the first reading by the State Duma.

Director of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government, Taliya Khabrieva, spoke about the changes in the Federal Law “On the Government of the Russian Federation”. For example, the bill establishes a new procedure for appointing government representatives to office, a new procedure for dismissing members of the Cabinet and terminating his powers, including in connection with the State Duma’s expression of no confidence in the government.

Also, according to the new Constitution, such a procedure for forming a government is enshrined in which the chairman, his deputies and federal ministers, with the exception of ministers of the “power block”, are appointed by the president after their approval by the State Duma.

The head of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov, commenting on the amendments to the law “On the Constitutional Court”, said that the Constitutional Court, upon the request of the head of state, would be able to check the legality of the adopted bills. In addition, the deputy noted that the working group intends to consider amendments to the law on the judiciary, which can be submitted for the first reading as soon as possible.

Andrey Klishas, ​​Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Construction, spoke about the amendments to the law “On the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation”. It is reported that the document proposed a new procedure for appointment to the post. The Prosecutor General, his deputies, regional prosecutors and those equated to them will be appointed to office by the President after consultation with the Federation Council and dismissed by the President. Also, prosecutors must notify the management of the termination of Russian citizenship or the acquisition of citizenship of another country and the receipt of a residence permit within five days.

In total, according to the revised data of experts, the updated Constitution will lead to changes in more than 150 laws, and not 100 as previously planned.
