WHO reports record increase in new cases of COVID-19 per day

Over the past 24 hours, 423 thousand new cases of coronavirus were detected in the world, this became a new record for the increase in incidence. This was announced on October 22 by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The total number of cases exceeded 41.1 million. The number of deaths increased by more than 6.4 thousand, approaching 1.13 million, according to the WHO website.

In Europe, 192,831 new cases of coronavirus were detected per day. In second place is North and South America with 128,508 cases, in third place is South-East Asia, where 68,811 new cases were noted.

WHO statistics take into account only officially confirmed information on cases of infection and death provided by countries.

In Russia, as of October 22, 1,463,306 cases of coronavirus were detected in 85 regions. Over the entire period, 25,242 deaths were recorded, 1,107,988 patients recovered.
