Members of the Brest regional organization of veterans called for the inclusion of the white-red-white flag of the Belarusian opposition in the list of extremist symbols.

As the head of the organization, Valeriy Gubarenko, told “Rise”, the veterans have an extremely negative attitude to this banner and believe that it should be banned.

“This flag is wrong … This is not our flag … This is a props,” he said, explaining that “under this flag no one went to defend the conquests of the people, sovereignty.”

The banner used by the opposition is “invented” and “raised by the West,” Gubarenko believes. He added that he considers the fact that “young guys travel around Brest with this flag” and “the Brest regional organization of veterans” is illegal.
