“Clinical trials of a vaccine for the prevention of a new coronavirus infection, developed by the N.N. Gamalea of the Ministry of Health of Russia are coming to an end – the drug is at the stage of state registration, “he told the agency.
Earlier on July 27, it became known that the second phase of clinical trials of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus, developed by the Center. Gamalei, is in its final stages.
As Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated during his speech in the State Duma, 17 scientific organizations in the country have developed more than 26 types of vaccines, four of which have proven their safety. The head of government expressed hope that a ready-made vaccine against this virus will appear in the fall.
The spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the COVID-19 disease, began at the end of December last year. The Chinese city of Wuhan became the hotbed of infection.
