The head of the press service of the US State Department Ned Price on Tuesday, April 6, during a briefing announced that the United States, together with its foreign allies and partners, are planning to consider the idea of a boycott of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in China.

The representative of the American department expressed the initiative to discuss a joint boycott of the upcoming Olympics in Beijing.

“We, of course, want to discuss this. And we, of course, understand that a coordinated approach will meet not only our (American – Ed.) Interests, but also the interests of our allies and partners, ”commented Ned Price on the issue of a joint boycott.

This topic occupies the most promising items prevailing on the agenda, TASS reports.

On March 11, it became known that the US National Olympic Committee opposed the idea of a boycott of the Olympic Games, which will be held in Beijing in 2022.

According to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the likelihood of a boycott should not be ruled out, but this decision will be made after direct discussion with “friendly democracies”, that is, Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
