The US State Department plans to allocate $ 120 thousand to strengthen the media market in Kazakhstan. On Thursday, April 22, RT reports with reference to the description of the grant available to the publication.

The US State Department offers several ways to strengthen the media market in Kazakhstan, including funding projects to apply “innovative approaches” to news dissemination.

“The goal of the program is to strengthen the media in Kazakhstan by increasing the professionalism of journalists and reducing the negative impact of fake news in Kazakhstan,” the text of the grant description says.

The article notes that support for the “financial stability” of Kazakhstani media enterprises and programs for the exchange of specialists between the two countries correspond to a number of American interests of the new program. Funding priority will be given to those proponents whose projects will yield “real, measurable results,” while proponents of projects that involve mundane discussions should not rely on funding.

The size of one grant is estimated from $ 10,000 to $ 40,000, and the American Embassy in Nur-Sultan will oversee the media development initiative.

On April 7, it became known about the resumption of assistance to Palestine by the United States through the United Nations Middle East Agency for assistance to Palestine refugees and organization of works.

According to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, it is about allocating $ 75 million for economic support and development of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, $ 10 million for peacekeeping programs and $ 150 million for humanitarian aid.
