The United States has included the Era military technopolis on the list of Russian technology companies that have been subject to new sanctions. This was announced on Thursday, April 15, by the press service of the American ministry.

“The first use by the Ministry of Finance of the resolution of April 15, 2021 is aimed at companies in the technological sector of the Russian economy, which are supported by the Russian special services,” the statement said.

It is noted that Technopolis “Era”, JSC “Pasit”, Federal State Autonomous Scientific Institution “Research Institute” Specialized Computing Devices for Protection and Automation “, LLC” NeoBIT “, JSC” AST “were included in the list of companies in the technological sector of the Russian economy (AST, Advanced System Technologies), JSC Positive Technologies.

At the same time, according to Izvestia sources in the Russian military department, the new sanctions will not affect the work of the Era technopolis. The interlocutors also recalled that earlier EU and US sanctions had already been imposed on a number of military research institutes and even on one anti-aircraft missile regiment.

Earlier that day, it became known that US President Joe Biden had signed a decree imposing sanctions against Russia. The restrictions were imposed on 32 legal entities and individuals from Russia, which, according to the US presidential administration, attempted to influence the US presidential election in 2020, as well as other acts of disinformation and interference.

The United States prohibited its companies from directly purchasing Russian debt securities issued by the Central Bank, the National Wealth Fund, or the RF Ministry of Finance after June 14, 2021. Also, sanctions were introduced against eight individuals and legal entities associated with Crimea, including members of the republic’s government.

At the same time, it was indicated that the Biden administration “made it clear” that the United States “wants stable and predictable” relations with Russia, but will defend its national interests.

In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Moscow would resolutely respond to the new sanctions imposed by Washington. The department added that the sanctions course of the American side does not meet the interests of the peoples of the two states.
