The United States has added the Yemeni movement, banned in Russia, Ansar Allah, to the list of terrorist organizations, the Ministry of Finance said.
“Today, January 19, the US State Department declared Ansar Allah a foreign terrorist organization,” the agency reports.
Earlier, Reuters had already reported on Washington’s plans to declare the Houthis terrorists, which was confirmed after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
The State Department also added the three leaders of Ansar Allah to the list of global terrorists – the head of the movement Abdel Malik al-Husi, his brother and military commander Abd al-Khalik al-Husi, and another commander, Abdullah Yahya al-Hakim.
The Houthis did not abandon this and threatened Washington with retaliation.
