Ukrainian security forces fired twenty mines on the northern outskirts of Donetsk, reported on Saturday, May 1, at the DPR office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC).
“Recorded shelling from the armed formations of Ukraine in the direction of Peski (under the control of Kiev – Ed.) – Volvo Center (northern outskirts of Donetsk – ed.), Fired 14 mines from a 120-mm mortar and six mines and an 82-mm mortar”, – the message says.
On April 28, representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics proposed seven compromise versions of the document for agreement, which outlined a coordination mechanism for preventing ceasefire violations. However, Kiev did not agree with any of them.
Earlier in April, the leaders of the DPR and LPR Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik announced their readiness to meet with the President of Ukraine at any point along the contact line in Donbass.
Since 2014, the Ukrainian side has been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup and the new government in Ukraine. In this situation, Kiev blames Moscow and seeks to attract other countries to its side. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict and is interested in Kiev overcoming the political and economic crisis.
