An Mi-8 helicopter with two tourists injured by an avalanche in the Tunkinsky region of Buryatia landed in Irkutsk. This was announced on Tuesday, May 4, by TASS with reference to the Republican Civil Defense and Emergencies Agency of Buryatia.
On Monday, May 3, it became known that as a result of an avalanche in Buryatia, in the Tunkinsky region, five people disappeared. According to the regional Emergencies Ministry, the incident took place at the Gorelov pass, located near the village of Mondy.
Later on the same day, the law enforcement agencies of Buryatia organized a check on the fact of the descent of the snow mass in the Tunkinsky region of the republic and the disappearance of five tourists as a result of the incident.
On May 4, the UK said that a group of tourists of five people, who fell under the snow mass in the Tunkinsky region of Buryatia, did not coordinate their ascent towards the Sayan Mountains with the Ministry of Emergency Situations. At the moment, the investigation is conducting a check aimed at establishing a complete picture of what happened and clarifying all the circumstances.
