Two suspects were detained as part of a criminal investigation into the death of people in a fire in a hotel in Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, May 5, at the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the capital.
“Currently, Art. 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, the general director of a private organization born in 1971, which leased the building, as well as the manager of the hotel born in 1979, were detained. Soon a preventive measure will be chosen against the defendants, ”said Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the department.
The fire in the capital hotel “Vechny Zov” broke out the day before. The fire took place on 6th Kozhukhovskaya Street, there was strong smoke in the building. The fire was classified as a second, higher difficulty grade.
As a result of the incident, two people were killed, another 12 people were injured, they were hospitalized. Eight of them are minors. At the same time, one of the adults is in serious condition, and another is receiving medical assistance on an outpatient basis.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of a person).
