A fire broke out in one of the apartments of a multi-storey residential building in Kimovsk, Tula region, two young children were killed. This is stated on April 25 in a message on the website of the regional prosecutor’s office.
“According to preliminary information, the apartment on the sixth floor on the street. Leo Tolstoy in Kimovsk, Tula region, there was a fire that killed children born in 2014 and 2017, ”the department noted.
The Kimovsky interdistrict prosecutor Yuri Shcherbakov arrived at the scene of the tragedy.
According to the press service of the head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Tula region, the fire was reported at 7:30. Two fire brigades were dispatched to the scene.
Earlier, on Sunday, it became known that more children have died in fires in Russia since the beginning of the year compared to the same period in 2020. 50% of fires with casualties among children arise from violations of the rules for the installation and operation of electrical equipment.
In the last two weeks alone, there have been two major fires in Russia with the death of children. On April 15, in a private house in the village of Byzovo, Sverdlovsk region, five children died in a fire, two more children and three adults were injured.
