The wife of the son of incumbent President Eric Trump, Lara Trump, is exploring the possibility of running for Senator from North Carolina in the midterm congressional elections to be held in 2022. This was reported on Thursday, November 19, Politico newspaper writes, citing sources.
The publication notes that after Senator Richard Burr from this state announced that he would not be re-elected in two years, the 38-year-old daughter-in-law of the president, who was born in North Carolina, thought about the possibility of taking part in the elections.
This year, as in 2016, she served as an adviser to Donald Trump’s campaign headquarters. During the Republican campaign, she spoke in support of him to the residents of North Carolina.
Before starting her political career, Lara Trump worked as a producer on the popular American TV show Inside Edition, as well as a personal trainer and chef. Eric and Lara Trump are raising two children.
