US President Donald Trump said Thursday that his comments on children and COVID-19, withdrawn the day before by Facebook and Twitter, were “perfect.”

He affirmed in the radio program of the conservative Geraldo Rivera to have drawn up “a perfect report, an observation on the youth”.

Facebook for the first time removed a video from the President of the United States’ page on Wednesday evening for “violating the regulations on dangerous disinformation” around the Covid-19 pandemic.

The clip showed the Republican billionaire explaining in an interview on Fox News that children were “almost completely” immune, by their age, to the new coronavirus.

Twitter also temporarily banned Donald Trump’s campaign team from tweeting until they removed a post containing the same video.

Studies have shown that young children, although less vulnerable than adults, can still catch and transmit the disease.

The president strongly supports the reopening of schools in the United States in order to get the country back on track as the November 3 presidential election approaches.

“All the doctors say the same thing as me. Well maybe not all, some will say something else, ”he said on the radio show, once again accusing social networks of wanting to muzzle conservative voices.
