The Chinese social network TikTok has officially filed a lawsuit against the executive order of US President Donald Trump, which implies a ban on its use in the country unless a US company buys it. This was announced by the Chinese media.

“It’s not easy for us to sue the government, but we have no other choice,” a press release circulated by TikTok states. As noted, the company is embarking on a process to protect its rights and the rights of its communities and employees.

Trump’s decree signed on August 6, 45 days after the date of publication of the document, will prohibit any transaction by any person or in relation to any property under US jurisdiction with ByteDance Ltd., which owns TikTok.
