18.4 billion rubles will be returned to the treasury of the Sakhalin region. Most of this money will come from the Regional Development Corporation and will be used to reduce the budget deficit. This became known from the Minister of Finance Olga Lopatina at a meeting of the regional Duma on budget and economy.
The money previously invested in the authorized capital of the Development Corporation will again return to the regional budget. The second part – 5.5 billion out of 18.5 billion – will come from RusHydro as a subsidy to electricity suppliers.
The region’s budget still remains in deficit. So far, expenses exceed revenues by more than 10 billion rubles. Nevertheless, the budget remains focused on the needs of the population and provides for comprehensive social support, development of health care and education.
The amendments to the budget are planned to be adopted on March 25. Then the document will be considered in the first reading.
