The leadership of the Russian Orthodox Church hopes for the repentance of Protodeacon Andrei Kuraev, TASS reports, citing a representative of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Thus, Bishop Savva of Zelenograd explained that the patriarch has the right to approve or not approve the decision of the diocesan court, but the main thing in Christianity is repentance.
“Christians have no desire for life to” suppress their brother. “First of all, we hope for repentance. We will be glad if Protodeacon Andrei Kuraev shows a desire to repent, admits that he made mistakes and sins”, – clarified Bishop Sawa.
Earlier it was reported that the diocesan court defrocked Protodeacon Andrei Kuraev for the fact that the priest insulted Archpriest Alexander Ageikin, who died of coronavirus on April 21, 2020.
