Particles of the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker were brought to the village of Narmushad, Shilovsky region. The regional government reports.
On Tuesday, August 11, on the birthday of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, solemn events were held dedicated to bringing a particle of the saint’s relics.
The celebration was attended by: Vice-Governor Igor Grekov, Metropolitan Voskresensky, Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate Dionisy, Bishop Vasily of Kasimovsky and Sasovsky, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Alyoshin, leaders of the Shilovsky District and parishioners.
The relics of the saint were brought from Italy, from the city of Bari, and transferred to the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Aleshin and his family.
Grekov greeted and congratulated all those present on behalf of the Governor Nikolai Lyubimov and handed over to the church the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of the 19th century.
As part of the holiday, a divine service and worship of the relics took place.
