“Tomorrow morning, the head of the Pentagon Austin Lloyd intends to hold talks with his Indonesian counterpart to express regret and grief in connection with the loss of the submarine, as well as to discuss how else the US authorities can help with the search for the apparatus,” – said in the statement of the representative of the department.
He also addedthat the US government, at the initiative of Indonesia, sent airborne forces to assist the country.
On the eve of April 22, Russia, the United States, France, Germany, India and Turkey offered Indonesia assistance in the search for the missing submarine of the country’s naval forces.
On April 21, it became known that the Indonesian submarine KRI Nanggala 402 stopped communicating during an exercise near the island of Bali.
The missing craft carried 53 people and disappeared about 60 miles north of Bali. Indonesian authorities have also turned to Singapore and Australia for help with the search.
