The Burning Man music and art festival, which takes place in the desert in the US state of Nevada, has been canceled for the second year in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the festival’s website.
According to the organizers, various scenarios for holding the festival this year were being worked out, however, due to the lack of the necessary time for preparation, the event was decided to be canceled.
“Although here in the US it may seem like a mountain has been lifted from our shoulders and a light is visible at the end of the tunnel, we are still in a state of pandemic and uncertainty that must be overcome in the remaining time we will not be able to overcome. We decided to target Black Rock City 2022, ”the message says.
At the same time, it is emphasized that fans can organize their own mini-festival, observing a number of principles. In particular, fans were advised to financially support artists who create their works at Burning Man, and this year they intend to do it at home.
The festival was also canceled last year due to the pandemic. Then the participants were refunded the money for the tickets, but the organizers urged to donate part of the cost or the full cost of the ticket in order to support the project.
The Burning Man festival has been held since 1991, it got its name in honor of the burning of a large wooden stuffed man at the end of the event.
