The number of people who were hospitalized after the collapse of the metro bridge in Mexico City has reached 79. This was announced on Tuesday, May 4, by the Department of Integrated Risk Management and Civil Protection.

“Updated the list of people taken to the hospital by 5:30 local time on Tuesday (13:30 Moscow time),” – said in Twitter– department account.

It is specified that there are at least three children in the list of children delivered to medical facilities.

Earlier on the same day, 65 hospitalizations were reported.

The collapse occurred on Monday at 22:25 local time (06:25 Tuesday Moscow time) on the 12th metro line, near the Olivos and Tesonko stations in the southeastern part of the city. As a result, two cars collapsed from a height of about 10 m onto the carriageway.

At least 23 people died. The causes of the accident are established by law enforcement agencies. Search and rescue activities are ongoing.

In addition, a check was organized on the fact of the incident. Experts will conduct an examination and a detailed investigation of the causes of the incident.
