The perinatal center in Khabarovsk was named after Professor Grigory Postol, the founder of the first specialized children’s intensive care unit in the Khabarovsk Territory. The opening ceremony of the commemorative plaque took place the day before, on January 21.
According to IA AmurMedia, the name of Postol was given to the perinatal center at the end of last year, but due to restrictions on coronavirus, the ceremony was only held now.
According to the deputy head of the regional government for social issues Yevgeny Nikonov, Postol stood at the origins of the modern obstetric service. He initiated the construction of modular children’s clinics and antenatal clinics, he managed to organize an out-of-the-box counseling for children in the region.
In 1999, his name was given to the Children’s Regional Hospital No. 1 in Khabarovsk. It was on its basis that the regional Perinatal Center appeared in 2000.
One of the buildings of the center will be transferred to the management of the medical college by the decision of the regional Ministry of Health. A simulation center for the training of medical personnel will be created here. A decision was made to organize the training of sisters of mercy. The initiative of the regional authorities was supported by the Khabarovsk Metropolitanate.
