New York police have accused two men of the 2002 murder of rapper Jason Meisell, aka Jem Master J. This was reported on August 17 by The Guardian, citing three sources in law enforcement.

The interlocutors of the publication said that on Monday afternoon, federal prosecutors intend to officially bring charges against Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan.

It is noted that at the time of the crime, Washington temporarily lived in the musician’s house; he was a witness and a suspect in a murder case back in 2007. He is currently serving a prison sentence for a series of robberies.

Court documents from the time claimed that on October 30, 2002, Washington “brandished a pistol” and ordered people in Jay’s Queens recording studio to lie down while his accomplice shot the rapper.

According to prosecutors, Washington “provided cover for his accomplice in exchange for killing Jason Meisell.”

On July 12, it became known that 30-year-old American rap artist Lil Marlo was shot dead in Atlanta, Georgia.
