During the first three months of this year, due to the fault of drunk drivers, 70 accidents occurred on the capital’s roads, 5 people died and 86 were injured. This is reported by the official Telegram channel of the Moscow Department of Transport.
It is noted that 55% of all “drunken” accidents occur from 21-00 pm to 6-00 am. In addition, there are 9% more accidents on weekends than on weekdays. The ministry also said that most of these accidents occur in winter – 31%.
“Please do not drive if you have a drink. Take a taxi and leave the car at the restaurant, or ask for a story from someone who has not touched alcohol. Take care of yourself and do not be reckless – not only your life depends on it, ”the Moscow Transport Department said in a statement.
Now for drunk driving (if there is no corpus delicti) a fine of 30 thousand rubles is provided with deprivation of a driver’s license for a period of 1.5 to 2 years.
If the driver is caught drunk while driving again, Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for up to two years in prison with deprivation of the right to drive a car for up to three years.
