Employees who will work from May 4 to May 7 will receive regular, not increased salaries. This was announced on Monday, April 26, at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia.

They explained that employers can set higher wages on their own, according to the recommendations on the agency’s website.

“Payments to employees who ensure the functioning of the bodies and organizations specified in paragraph 1 of these recommendations from May 4 to 7, 2021, are made during non-working days in the usual, not increased amount,” the Ministry of Labor noted.

As specified, the presence of non-working days at the same time cannot become the basis for reducing wages to employees.

Earlier on Monday, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that some of the enterprises will continue to work in the period from May 1 to May 10, announced as days off. He added that employers will not be punished.

Peskov also noted that the head of state will work on holidays, since he has responsibilities that do not include days off.

On April 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on non-working days between the May holidays. So, the days from 1 to 10 May are declared non-working. This decision was made in order to achieve a more stable epidemiological situation in the country.
