The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation plans to include a special department that will be responsible for the development and implementation of artificial intelligence systems. This was reported on the official website of the Government of the Russian Federation.
On April 26, a meeting of the working group dealing with the development of military and dual-use unmanned aerial vehicles took place. The meeting was chaired by Andrei Yelchaninov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission.
At the meeting, representatives of the military department spoke about the use of artificial intelligence for unmanned aerial vehicles in their actions in groups. Representatives of companies engaged in the production of UAVs who were present at the meeting spoke about the possibilities of introducing artificial intelligence into military equipment, as well as into equipment that can be used for both military and civilian purposes.
