In Elista, in the Kaldarikov Sports Palace, the Kalmykia Karate Championship was held. 11 national teams of the capital and regions of the republic took part in the competitions in the kata and kumite directions.
As reported on the website of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, athletes fought for medals in different weight categories and ages, as well as for the right to enter the national team of the republic at the judo championship of the Southern Federal District among boys and girls under 13, which will be held in Armavir on 27-29 April.
So, the first places among 16-17 year olds were won by Alexander Salynov and Bair Erdnyaev, among 14-15 year olds Sergey Avershin, Savr Shiripov and Dayana Mikitkeeva. In the group of 12-13 year olds, the first were Savr Sharvaev, Alexander Bambyshev, Artem Lagodin, Ildiyar Kandruev, Valeria Kovaleva, Darina Ulyumdzhieva, Ekaterina Bukreeva, Anna Kichikova. Among 10 – 11-year-olds Evgeny Krutov, Namsr Badmaev, Kirill Gusakov, Erentsen Mukubenov, Maxim Obusheev, Valeria Dolbanova. In the group of 8-9-year-olds Danir Pankov, Timur Mamaev, Ochir Dordzhiev, Aldar Muchaev, Namsr Muchaev, Ilyana Dordzhieva, Alina Teymurova.
Six-seven-year-old girls and boys also took part in the kumite tournament. First place was won by Vladislava Slizskaya, Oleg Kalashnikov, Valery Chuchinov and Ayuka Berikov.
