The chief physician of the regional clinical hospital of the Trans-Baikal Territory Viktor Shalnev was accused of bribery in the course of supplying medical equipment, the press service of SUSK in the region reports.
As noted, the fourth department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Trans-Baikal Territory summed up the results of the investigation in the framework of the criminal case concerning the chief physician of the state healthcare institution “Regional Clinical Hospital” of the region, Viktor Shalnev. He was accused of committing a crime under part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“taking a bribe on an especially large scale for illegal actions”).
The Investigation Department clarified that the head physician received kickbacks for the unimpeded conclusion of contracts for the supply of medical equipment. Investigators believe that Shalnev received 3.7 million rubles in bribes from 2016 to 2020. The UK added that the accused partially admitted his guilt.
