The former captain of the Canadian youth team will play for Avtomobilist

HC Avtomobilist signed a two-year contract with Canadian striker Patrice Cormier. The last two seasons he played for Ak Bars from Kazan, with whom he reached the final of the Eastern Conference last year.

Patrice Cormier was selected in the 2008 NHL Draft under No. 54 by the New Jersey Devils. The following year, he participated in the World Cup as part of the Canadian youth team. A year later, already as captain of the national team, he won silver medals at the World Championship.

He also played for the Atlanta Thrashers and Winnipeg Jets NHL teams. He moved to the KHL in 2018, having signed a contract with Barys, in 2019 he moved to Ak Bars.

Earlier it became known that Nikita Tryamkin, a native of Yekaterinburg, remains in Avtomobilist. He extended the agreement for two years.
