The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova appreciated the victory of the Russian figure skaters at the World Championships in Stockholm and the success of the Arctic expedition, which took place on the same day, March 26. She expressed her opinion on the page on the social network Facebook on Saturday, March 27.
Zakharova noted that “three Russian figure skaters and three nuclear submarines conquered the ice in one day.”
“Surprising, but true. In one day, three Russian figure skaters and three Russian nuclear submarines conquered the ice. And all this for the first time. And all this after a year that turned the life of the planet. And behind all this there is a colossal work of many people, ”the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.
She urged to remember our victories when “another portion of heresy about the validity of sanctions” is heard and stressed that the sanctions have only one goal – to stop the development of Russia.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian figure skaters Anna Shcherbakova, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva and Alexandra Trusova on their victory at the World Championship in Sweden.
The day before, on March 26, the Russian leader heard a report by the Chief Commander of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov on the Umka-2021 complex expedition in the Arctic. Evmenov noted that for the first time in the history of the Navy, three atomic missile carriers simultaneously surfaced from under the ice with a 1.5-meter ice break.
