European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told the Suddeutsche Zeitung that the European Union may face difficulties with the production of vaccines against coronavirus infection.
According to her, the EU authorities underestimated that new production processes could create a roller coaster before the scheme stabilizes. She stressed that in the near future, vaccine manufacturers may declare capacity shortages.
So, the Italian COVID-19 Emergency Commissioner Domenico Arcuri has already stated that the country is experiencing serious problems with the supply of the drug. Italy received 60% fewer vaccines than planned.
