The state of health of the Great Patriotic War veteran Ignat Artemenko against the background of the trial against blogger Alexei Navalny is relatively normal. This was announced on Tuesday, February 16, by his daughter Elena Artemenko.
“Feeling with varying degrees of success. There were two attacks, but now it is more or less normal, ”said Artemenko in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The veteran is now at home. According to his daughter, the family does not plan to file a claim for compensation for moral damage, but is only waiting for an apology from the blogger.
The Babushkinsky Court of Moscow on Tuesday hosts the third hearing in the case of blogger Navalny on libel against veteran Artemenko.
The state prosecution asked to find Navalny guilty and to impose a fine on him in the amount of 950 thousand rubles. The blogger himself refused to admit his guilt.
The first hearing of the libel case against Navalny took place on February 5.
On February 12, the process began with comments from the defense. In particular, the judge began with a warning about the inadmissibility of the defendant’s behavior and twice reprimanded Navalny’s lawyer.
Veteran Artemenko himself refused to further participate in the process, due to the fact that he felt bad at the last meeting, as well as because of the insults at him from Navalny.
Navalny is accused of deliberately disseminating information discrediting the honor and dignity of Artemenko, whom the blogger called a traitor in the summer of 2020. Navalny criticized the video with the veteran’s support for amendments to the Russian Constitution.
