The Moskva missile cruiser fired for the first time with the Vulcan cruise missile in the Black Sea, it successfully hit a surface target at a distance of 30 km. This was reported to reporters in the press service of the Black Sea Fleet.
It is noted that to ensure safety, the maritime range and the adjacent water area, where the missile firing was carried out, was closed to navigation. Over 20 warships and support vessels of the Black Sea Fleet took part in the closure of the area.
According to the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice Admiral Igor Osipov, the last shooting is valid.
“The flagship is being deployed to the permanent readiness forces, ready to carry out the assigned tasks,” he said.
The Black Sea Fleet also published a video of shooting from the cruiser Moskva, which shows the launch of a cruise missile from a launcher using two solid-propellant boosters. It also follows from the video that “Moscow” was accompanied in firing by the Project 11356 Black Sea Fleet frigate “Admiral Makarov”, armed with the “Caliber” missile system.
The shooting practice of the cruiser took place against the background of the US Coast Guard ship Hamilton entering the Black Sea on April 27. As stated in the press service of the US Sixth Fleet, “Hamilton” is in the Black Sea “to support NATO allies and partners.”
