The criminal prosecution of businessman Vasily Boyko-Veliky in the case of acquiring land in the Moscow region has been terminated, RBC reports. This decision was made by the Ruzsky District Court. They referred to recent changes in legislation. They do not allow prosecution under the article on the criminal community in connection with business activities.
The businessman was accused of creating a criminal community, fraud, falsifying evidence and legalizing property.
Production for two episodes was discontinued due to a statute of limitations. They refer to the years 2004-2007.
The court also considered that Boiko-Velikiy and other defendants had been wrongly charged with falsification of evidence. The article on which the charges were brought relates to criminal cases. And here we are talking about a forgery within the framework of civil arbitration.
Let me remind you that Boyko-Veliky and his accomplices were accused of illegally acquiring ownership of land in the Ruza district of the Moscow region. The investigation lasted 14 years. There were 12 defendants in total, two of whom died during the investigation.
Boyko the Great will remain in custody. An embezzlement case initiated last year is being investigated against him.
