In the first days after the coronavirus vaccination, flu-like symptoms may appear. This was stated on Tuesday, February 2, by the chief freelance therapist of the Russian Ministry of Health Oksana Drapkina.
“There is nothing to be afraid of, but there is something to watch for. There may be flu-like symptoms, flu-like condition. Weakness, a little aches, a tendency to sleep, drowsiness, the temperature may rise for a short time. She may be accompanied by a little chills, ”- said Drapkina on the First Channel.
She noted that usually such effects persist for 24 hours after vaccination.
The doctor added that very rarely, after vaccination, people have a temperature above 39 ° C, usually up to 38 ° C, writes Gazeta.ru. At the same time, according to her, in such cases “there is no need to run anywhere” for help.
In December 2020, Ramil Khabriev, a member of the independent committee for monitoring vaccine clinical trials data, also noted that flu-like condition is a common potential side effect of vaccination. At the same time, gastrointestinal disturbances are less common, and other side effects were observed only in 10-14% of cases.
In the same month, the Russian Ministry of Health reported that after vaccination against coronavirus infection with Sputnik V, almost every tenth patient may feel fever, chills, weakness or nausea.
The first vaccine against coronavirus in Russia and in the world, developed by the Gamaleya Center and registered in August 2020, is called Sputnik V. The second domestic vaccine against COVID-19 is the drug EpiVacCorona from the Vector Research Center. The drug was registered in October 2020. The third Russian vaccine – from the Chumakov Center – may go into civilian circulation in March.
