The Second General Jurisdiction Court of Cassation registered complaints against the verdict by footballers Pavel Mamaev and Alexander Kokorin.
“The criminal case and cassation appeals have been submitted to the court, the date of the hearings will be set in the near future,” said a representative of the court.
It is noted that the defense of Mamaev asks to re-qualify his actions from part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Intentional infliction of minor harm to health from hooligan motives”) to part 1 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation with a fine as punishment. Also, the midfielder of “Rostov” intends to obtain an acquittal under article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Beating”).
In turn, Kokorin’s side asks to completely cancel the sentence against him and appoint a new appeal hearing. The current player of the Italian “Fiorentina” was sentenced to one year and six months in prison for disorderly conduct and willful harm to health.
