The case of the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Sakhalin brought to court

The Sakhalin Regional Court received a criminal case on the murder of an eight-year-old girl in Sakhalin. The body was found in July 2020.

The case will be considered in a closed court session, the press service of the court said. The charges were brought against the spouses Dvornikovs. The man is charged with clause “a, c, h, k” part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Murder”; p. “a, d” part 2 of Art. 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Abduction of a person”, two episodes of the crime under paragraph “b”, part 4 of Art. 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Rape”, item “b”, part 4 of Art. 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violent acts of a sexual nature”, part 2 of Art. 135 “Depraved actions”. For a woman – kidnapping, incitement to rape and murder a girl.

After an investigation, Dvornikov was also charged with the murder of two more people: a citizen of the PRC and an unidentified woman. According to the investigation, the murders took place in 2001. Also, the investigation established an episode with the rape in 2018 of another minor and the commission of lecherous acts against her. Dvornikov faces a life sentence.

Eight-year-old Vika Teplyakova from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk disappeared on July 6, 2020 – she went for a walk and never returned. The child’s body was found only on July 10 with signs of a violent death in the forest near the village of Ozhidaevo, Kholmsk District, 30 km from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
