The project for the reconstruction of the Olginsky Bridge in Pskov includes the creation of a cycle path. The head of the city administration Alexander Bratchikov said this on the air of the Pskov news agency-live.
According to him, the bridge expects not just a major overhaul, but a large-scale reconstruction. There are two options for its appearance: make the structure arched, as it was before, or leave it as it is.
According to the project, the Olginsky bridge will be significantly expanded. The changes will affect both the roadway and sidewalks. In addition, a bike path will be added.
“As for the bike paths: we have already discussed more than once with the tourism committee, which deals with cross-border cooperation, and with the road committee, and with the Ministry of Transport, that a developed network of bike paths needs to be created in Pskov so that they have a logical conclusion,” Bratchikov said. …
Now all the ideas for creating a bicycle network are being discussed by the authorities. The concept is planned to be presented in the near future.
Bratchikov spoke about the creation of a cycling network in Pskov in December last year. € 2 million will be allocated for its construction. It is planned to attract them within the framework of cross-border cooperation.
