From 17 to 20 August, the Army of Belarus will hold exercises in the area of the Belarusian nuclear power plant and at training grounds in the Grodno region. This was reported on August 16 on the Telegram channel of the republic’s defense department.
“From 17 to 20 August, in accordance with the Training Plan of the Armed Forces, a number of tactical exercises with batteries of rocket battalions will be held at military training grounds and separate areas of the terrain with a move to the area near Ostrovets, the Gozhsky and Neman ranges. Subdivisions of missile forces and artillery will carry out the tasks of interceding on alert duty at designated targets, ”the message says.
Also, at the Obuz-Lesnovsky and Gozhsky ranges, scheduled combat training sessions with live firing will be held with the participation of separate tank and mechanized battalions of the 6th and 11th separate mechanized brigades. As part of the tactical exercises, the personnel of the 103rd Airborne Brigade will move to the Gozhsky training ground, where, together with the border service, they will work on strengthening border sections.
It is noted that the BelNPP is located 50 km from the capital of Lithuania – Vilnius. The Lithuanian government has already made a decision not to purchase electricity from the station.
