Swedish fighter Khamzat Chimaev announced the end of his sports career in mixed martial arts.
“I know that I did not take the belt, but this is not the most important victory in this life. Maybe it will upset you, but my heart and body tell me everything, ”he said on Instagram on Tuesday, March 2.
Chimaev thanked his team, those who supported him throughout his sports career, as well as the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC).
The 26-year-old fighter, a native of the Chechen Republic, began to practice mixed martial arts after moving to Sweden in 2013. The athlete has nine victories and not a single defeat, writes Sport-Express.
Last September, Chimaev knocked out rival Gerald Mirshert in the first 17 seconds of the fight, setting the UFC record for wins in 10 days.
