The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Smolensk Region completed the investigation of the criminal case of the beating of a Russian Guard by a 28-year-old resident of the city of Yartsevo. The criminal case was conducted under article 318, part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against a government official).
According to the investigation, the incident occurred on December 15, 2020 in the evening. In the courtyard of the house on Metallurgov Avenue, the Smolyanin entered into a verbal altercation with a police officer during the arrest of his partner over the fact of a possible drinking of alcohol in a prohibited place. An aggressive man pounced on a Rosguard officer and hit him in the chest and in the back of the head. Then the enraged man knocked the policeman to the ground and began to fight.
A 28-year-old resident of Yartsevo has fully admitted his guilt, and now he faces a trial. “The investigation has collected a sufficient evidence base, in connection with which the criminal case with an approved indictment has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits,” the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Smolensk Region reported.
