Skier dies when falling off a cliff in eastern France

The skiers died in a fall from a cliff in the Haute-Savoie department in eastern France. On Saturday, February 13, Ouest France reports with reference to the gendarmerie.

According to law enforcement officers, the accident occurred in the Barmrus Valley, located in the Passy commune, at about 12.40 Paris time (14.40 Moscow time). A 45-year-old woman fell from a peak 50 meters high.

According to the gendarmerie, the reason for the fall of the skier was the loss of balance when the snow cover melted. Doctors quickly arrived at the scene of the incident, but by that time the woman was already dead.

On January 18, it was reported that an avalanche covered 10 people in the ski resort of Verbier in Switzerland, one of them, a British citizen, was killed.
