Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that budget cuts in 2021 are not planned. He spoke about this on Wednesday, December 30.
“We are not cutting costs, we are bringing them to a normal budgetary policy,” he said in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel.
He noted that over the current year, Russia has increased state demand and costs have been significantly increased.
“We increased debt, we really came out with large borrowings in the market. But this cannot continue all the time, ”added the head of the Ministry of Finance.
As Siluanov emphasized, no industries are currently being closed. According to forecasts, this work of the Russian economy will continue in 2021.
“The economy is starting to generate its own demand and continue the same budgetary policy,” concluded the Minister of Finance.
In addition, Siluanov said that next year the main task in Russia will be to restore entrepreneurial activity.
According to the head of the Ministry of Finance, the borrowing program will still be implemented, despite the risks of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia in 2021.
