Six children and one adult injured in an accident in the Stavropol Territory are evacuated for treatment to the Center. N.N.Burdenko and children’s hospital named after N.N. N.I. Pirogov in Moscow. This was reported on May 1 by the Russian Ministry of Health.
“According to the order of the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko, six children and one adult injured in a major accident with a bus in the Stavropol Territory will be evacuated to Moscow by an EMERCOM plane,” the ministry said.
This decision was made based on the results of consultations held with the participation of a team of federal specialists who arrived in the region.
The accident happened near the village of Yamka. The minibus transported the pupils of the Volgograd sports school to the competitions in Cherkessk.
According to preliminary data, the VAZ driver, trying to overtake the truck, did not manage to complete the maneuver, and the car collided with the truck. As a result of braking, he overturned on a minibus moving in the opposite direction, in which there were 14 children and three adults accompanying them.
As a result of the road accident, five minors were killed.
The preliminary cause of the accident in the traffic police of Russia was called a violation of traffic rules by the driver of a car.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of the incident.
On May 1, the head of the region, Andrei Bocharov, declared May 3 a day of mourning for the children who died in an accident in the Stavropol Territory. He instructed the relevant committee, together with the Volgograd city administration, to check the legality of organizing the departure of children to competitions and submit the results of the check for further decision, as well as pay 1 million rubles to the families of the dead children and 200 thousand rubles to the relatives of the victims.
