The Russians do not appear on the list of 152 victims of the explosion in Beirut. This was reported on Friday, August 7, by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
However, the identities of 17 victims have not yet been established. The complete list of victims is already in the public domain. It also lists the names of the medical institutions to which the bodies were delivered.
Most of the dead are Lebanese and Syrians, but there are also a few citizens of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Australia and Egypt.
Earlier on the same day, Lebanese Ambassador to Moscow Shawki Bou Nassar thanked Russia for the assistance provided after the explosion in the port of Beirut and did not rule out that Lebanon could apply for a loan to rebuild the capital.
According to Prime Minister Hassan Diab, the explosion was caused by improper storage of ammonium nitrate weighing 2,750 tons in a warehouse in the port. At the same time, Lebanese President Michel Aoun did not rule out the involvement of external forces in the explosion in Beirut.
At the moment, Russian employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are also helping to cope with the consequences of the incident in Beirut, who have located a hospital and are providing assistance to the victims. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the members of the Security Council how else one can help Lebanon in the future.
Law enforcement agencies have already detained 19 people in the Beirut bombing case. Most of them are employees of the port administration.
