Generations Y and Z spoke about the sacrifices they are willing to make for their careers. The results of the research carried out by the Superjob service were received by Izvestia on March 11.
The authors of the survey attributed people born in 1997–2012 to generation Z, and respondents born in the period from 1981 to 1996 to generation Y.
Representatives of generation Z stated that, first of all, for the sake of building a career, they are ready to give up rest and entertainment (28% of respondents), limit communication with friends (25%), postpone creating their own family or having a child (24%).
Representatives of generation Y, in turn, noted that in order to achieve career heights they are ready to move to another city (29%), limit communication with friends (28%). Only 12% of respondents in this age category are ready to postpone starting a family or having children.
Twenty-two percent of Gen Z representatives also reported a willingness to work 12-16 hours at irregular hours, compared to 18 percent among Gen Y representatives.
In general, Generation Y was less likely than Generation Z. to declare their readiness to make sacrifices for the sake of a career: 19% of representatives of generation Y and 12% of representatives of generation Z were not ready for risks and restrictions.
On March 8, the Ipsos company published the results of a survey, according to which the majority of Russians (79%) believe that politicians receive unreasonably high salaries. Bankers are in second place – 61%.
Also, an unjustifiably high salary, according to a quarter of the surveyed Russians, is received by police officers, another 14% noted the earnings of programmers.
