Russians have become more likely to buy goods for repair and interior design. Analysts from AliExpress Russia reported this to Izvestia.
Experts have studied the activity of buyers in the period from March 1 to March 31, 2021. The biggest increase was seen in wallpaper sales, which were purchased almost three times more often than in February. At the same time, the Russians preferred self-adhesive 3D wallpapers with prints.
Also, the demand for goods for home lighting increased, in this category purchases increased by 1.7 times compared to February. Thus, the most frequent purchases were “smart” ceiling chandeliers that can be controlled remotely, and luminaires with a strict design.
Textiles, repair tools, including ready-made item kits, storage systems and others became popular categories.
According to Tinkoff Index, as of early April, household goods and repairs are in second place in terms of frequency of purchases after goods in supermarkets. In third place is the category of goods for entertainment, followed by pharmacies and transportation costs. At the same time, users spend quite a lot of money on goods for repair and interior design: the category is one of the five most expensive.
On April 3, the Webbankir online platform reported that the majority of Russians spend about 15-30 thousand rubles on necessary goods and services, including food, utility bills and transport, which is 25-50% of their budget. 42.9% of Russian families fit into this amount, another 13% spend up to 15 thousand rubles, and 29.7% of families need 30-50 thousand rubles.
