Rospotrebnadzor specialists spoke about the benefits of carrots. This was reported by RIAMO with reference to the press service of the department for the Moscow region on Thursday, February 11.
According to experts, carrots are an irreplaceable source of a large amount of vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to the human body. In particular, the beneficial substances contained in the vegetable support the health of the heart and blood vessels, improve the functioning of the digestive system and strengthen the immune system.
So, carrots contain carotene – this is a substance that is transformed into vitamins A, B, E, PP, K, as well as ascorbic acid, potassium, iron, copper, phosphorus, iodine, chromium, zinc, nickel and fluorine. Doctors recommend using carrots for hypo- and avitaminosis. In addition, it is useful in the treatment of atherosclerosis and coronary insufficiency with symptoms of angina pectoris.
This vegetable is rich in potassium and may help lower cholesterol and prevent strokes and heart attacks. Coumarin, which is found in carrots, reduces hypertension and protects the heart.
In addition, carrots also have antibacterial properties, thereby improving the functioning of the immune system. It contains a lot of fiber and coarse fiber that support digestion, stimulate intestinal peristalsis and the secretion of gastric juice.
